Meet Kita the Doula
My name is Kita, and I am the founder of A Siren’s Lullaby Doula Services.
I came to this work through my own lived experience and a long journey through public health and community care. For over a decade, I’ve worked at the intersection of wellness, equity, and education where I have built programs that center Black, Brown, and LGBTQ+ families, creating access where barriers once stood, and helping communities heal through knowledge and love.
I believe every family deserves culturally responsive, evidence-based, and soul-centered support through birth and postpartum. My practice is grounded in equity and compassion where I work to create spaces where all birthing people are honored, informed, and empowered.
My mission is not just to support healthy births, but to help create thriving beginnings in which new parents feel confident, connected, and cared for as they step into their new identities.

A Short Story About Me
There was a time I forgot the rhythm of my own body. I mistook exhaustion for strength and silence for peace. Healing began when I remembered the truth that softness is not weakness; it’s how we thrive, how we love, how we begin again.
My own healing led me back to the sacred work of tending to the body and mind. I became a doula not to lead, but to listen. Not to direct, but to hold. To remind parents that their love, their intuition, and their connection are the foundation of everything.
A Siren’s Lullaby was born from that remembering.
It is the song I sing to those standing at the edge of transformation. It is a melody for new parents finding their way through sleepless nights, first cries, tender fears, and small miracles.
Rooted in the sacred traditions of Black birth workers across time, my practice blends intuition, evidence-based care, and deep listening.
I am not here to save anyone; I am here to sing the song that helps you trust your own rhythm and to remind you that your body knows the way. Your mind can shape your reality and my role is support you in creating the foundation that you desire for you and your new family.
What I Bring to This Work
I come to birth work as both a healer and a strategist.
My background includes:
Over a decade in public health and program management, advancing maternal and family wellness across community settings.
Experience designing and leading equity-centered initiatives that uplift Black, Brown, and LGBTQ+ families.
A foundation in trauma-informed and culturally rooted care, bridging evidence with intuition.
Training through two DONA-approved doula programs, with ongoing education toward Washington State Doula Certification.
A personal devotion to softness as survival. I believe in weaving ritual, rest, and restoration into every aspect of support.
My formal training grounds my practice, but it’s my lived experience and community connection that shape the way I serve. I believe real expertise lives in empathy, and true professionalism leaves room for humanity.
Every birth tells a story. My role is to ensure yours is written with tenderness, truth, and care.

What Makes Me Different
You hired a doula, not a superhero in sweatpants.
I provide exceptional care within clear boundaries. I show up fully present, deeply skilled, and ready to support you — but I'm not here to sacrifice my own wellbeing or work without rest.
Soft life means sustainable support — for both of us.
I believe in:
Evidence-based care that honors intuition
Cultural humility and continuous learning
Reproductive justice and health equity
Trauma-informed support
Body autonomy and informed consent
The healing power of being truly seen
I don't believe in:
One-size-fits-all birth plans
Judgment about your choices
Gatekeeping information
Perfectionism or performance
Martyrdom or burnout culture
My work is grounded in my Master of Public Health, my training in perinatal mental health, and over 10 years working in prevention and health education. But more than credentials, I bring presence, empathy, and a deep commitment to your wellbeing.
Service Area
I provide in-person birth and postpartum support throughout the central Puget Sound region, including Seattle, Tacoma, Olympia, Kent, Federal Way, Renton, Puyallup, Gig Harbor, and neighboring communities within this radius. Travel outside this radius may be available for an additional fee.
